I haven't prayed this hard since I prayed for my own son to live through his aortic dissection surgery. Please Lord save these precious little girls to let them live a long and healthy life. Please let these little ones live. My son did not. I grieve everyday.
Maybe the survival of theses little girls will help you accept, as we all must, the survival of life amidst the end of life. It is, after all, but a big wheel...Round and round it goes.
hope these two little darlings have a fast and speedy recovery, but they going to have to deal with separation anxiety for awhile. they been connected for two years and now they need to try to get used to not being together anymore.
Yes - silly - just not conjoined. LOL - most twins (even identical) are NOT born conjoined. When two separate eggs get fertilized by two separate sperm - you get fraternal twins. When one egg (fertilized by one sperm) splits - you get identical twins. When an egg fails to completely separate - you get conjoined twins.
Identical twins are always the same sex - boy/boy or girl/girl. Fraternal twins can be boy/girl - boy/boy - girl/girl and are not at all alike.
I am happy that we (America) was able to perform this surgery and give both girls a great chance for a good life, yet I would like to know who is paying for this procedure, living expenses and all other costs. Because it really bothers me if we (America) is fitting the bill, as we are financially hurting ourselves during this time. I can not afford health insurance and there is a long waiting list to get on Ahcccs. I am a born native of America and my own country can not or will not help me. Just saying...
Donors often pay for these procedures - religious groups are often involved and very often the hospital and doctors contribute. It may be that this is expensive - but it is important as a TRAINING experience for US Doctors. It allows them to develop procedures that may save the life of your child or even yourself.
Sometimes - money is well spent.
Can't afford health insurance - the new Health Care Law is designed to help people like you - Do You Support It?
I'm not going to be a hypocrite like most that made comments on here. We all hope the little girls live a long and happy life but at the same time I have seen children in our own country that need medical care that died because their parents couldn't afford it. Since they didn't have insurance they were refused admittance into the hospital. Yet I keep seeing children with deformities from other countries getting all the help they need.
Is there any other country that will take American children in and pay for their surgeries and give the families a place to stay so they can be near their children?
For all you that put Julz911 down for his comment, apparently you have never felt the rejection many people have faced when they or a loved one needed help the most. Pray you never will.
Which amazes me. the religious so often hate science and attack it everytime a new discovery sheds more light onto the twaddle in the BuyBull and other cult books. Seems they spend more money hating gays and protecting child rapists than anything else. Nice to see some of their money go for something honorable for once.
Americans are not the only surgeons that can complete these surgeries. In the last ten years there have been teams from all over the world performing them.

In all major US cities there are Children's Hospitals that admit and care for any child, regardless of insurance or ability to pay, and they get the best treatment available. Please give the details of the children you know PERSONALLY (not rumors) who died due to lack of insurance.
And yes, other countries do accept American children. One of our grandchildren was born extremely premature in England. All of her expenses were paid. There was NO bill when she left the hospital, only the good wishes of the wonderful staff who cared for her.
Thank you, Mary! Sadly many children go without preventive health care, immunizations and dental work, but we both know that if a child with a serious acute illness was refused care the story would be covered on every news channel. As the parent of a child treated at the same hospital as the twins, I want to assure all of the "America First" posters that no American child was denied care because of the brilliant, vital care these girls received.

And then, the republicans sit around and whine about the costs (because it benefits poor people) and try to figure out how to shut it down.
Rangewolf ......... It is a violation of Federal law for any hospital to deny treatment because of inability to pay in the U.S. NO one is dieing for lack of care in the U.S. today unless it is by choice. That is why private hospitals are going broke treating illegal aliens and county hospital are so overburdened. It also is why Obama passed a bill that taxes the citizen directly for the cost of treating the illegal alien and generational welfare citizen.
Dennis, while you were President of the Small Penis Society of America, did you raise dues, or was that the next guy? I remember you talking about it in other posts, but I don't recall the details...
You have to be pretty heartless to put such a positive story right in the ditch with negativity. While some wallow in the negative most of us are pulling for these girls and a positive outcome for them. I'm just glad someone can help them have a chance at a normal life.
John ....... it is a good thing for a chance at a normal life for these children but why is it a good thing that it you or I pay for it? personaly I can not afford life saving treatment I need for myself but do not expect or desire you or anyone else to pay for that treatment ..... that is MY responsibility as a free individual and I am currently living in a socialized medicine country. The care is on the same level as a free clinic or county hospital in the U.S. and treatment still will cost me $60.000 out of pocket (minimum projected cost so far). Looks like I will die.
My son had surgery at Stanford over 26 years ago. Amazing staff and surgeons. I was blessed then and this family and others have been blessed now. Religion and science can work together.

I am so sorry for your loss.
G. Spencer, may you be blessed with a peace and comfort for praying so hard for this family.
G. Spencer, I am sorry to read that about your son. Know that he will always be a part of you.

What a scary operation to undergo! My heart goes out to these little girls and I hope they both have a safe recovery.
I hope everything continues to go well for these two children, it's nice to read good news for once.
Wonderful!! Congratulations to the amazing MD's, surgical crew, family and to the twins.
Wishing a speedy recovery to these 2 little girls. Kudos to the team for their success with this surgery.
Thanks to the doctors for this miracle. May these little dolls live a long and joyous life.

Are they still considered twins?

That's actually "footing the bill" and yes, that is a foot in your mouth, mphh, gmpthtf.
The father is AMERICAN and they HAD health insurance. Everyone feel better?

Please elaborate and give us the benefit of how you know that the father is American and that they had insurance? Detail please - not guess work
