If the implant did't kill me, the cost would!

EXCELLENT! I had my aortic valve replaced last year, and wish they'd have had this new valve available then! It would sure beat getting cut open, not to mention making the recovery time ALOT faster.

I'm happy to see medical research continue to produce such improvements and advancements!

This is a bitter-sweet story for me. This procedure would have prevented my 73 year-old mother from dying a sudden death from aortic stenosis. The risk factors were too high for a traditional valve replacement. Cherish each day you have with your family. Let's hope our country embraces medical research to advance at a faster rate.

My daughter now 21 years old, has had 5 open heart surgeries. She had a bovine aortic valve in 2009. We know it will not last forever. This news is WONDERFUL for her future. I trust they will continue this excellent procedure for ALL future heart needs. But I must disagree with the cost. Not 1 of her 5 surgeries was less than 100,000.
