I am 44 and my mother was shocked i drink energy drinks. People older dont seem to understand change , they still cling to newspapers , and canned tuna , and coffee. Coffee will always be popular , i love it, but todays generation prefers energy drinks , thats just how it is. And its liquid - its gonna be mixed with alcohol. Government cant regulate everything , somewhere reasonable adults are going to have to have the right to do what they want with their own bodies - weather its energy drinks mixed with alcohol , seeing a prostitute , or smoking pot , which baffles me why it isnt legal as harmless as it is. Oh yeah , now i know why. The tobacco and liquor lobbys are too strong.
You food and beverages are poison.. full of pesticide, hormones ans nutrasweet.. Now you wonder why so many of you are unhealthy.. This is one of the thing you should fight, for, organic food and nutra sweet free beverages. Americans are truely dumb, they don't even care about what they feed their own body, with.. Well I guess it is making the rich, richer.
Sharp rise in hospitalizations tied to energy drinks
BS. Flag down on the play.
The sharp rise in hospitalizations is tied to stupidity and drug use - not energy drinks. This headline is akin to saying drunk driving deaths are tied to driving. Well, yeah, sort of. But, that doesn't mean driving is inherently dangerous - as this bogus headline suggests energy drinks may be. Nothing in this article suggests that energy drinks by themselves are causing any problems at all. The problems arise when stupid people drink a bunch of them and combine that with drug use.
Getting pretty tired of these games, MSNBC. Totally irresponsible journalism.
I will repeat what was stated above. "Stupid is as stupid does". If you have to use energy drinks then you have a bigger problem, one with your nutrition. If you are eating properly there is no need for energy drinks.
This article isn't as irresponsible as you seem to think it is. It's the mentality of those who say "there's no harm with this stuff. I use it all the time and I don't have a problem" while your insides are slowly dying from the crap that you put inside yourself. It will come back to bite you eventually.
You just keep saying to yourself that there's no harm, perhaps one day you will actually believe yourself.
Don't get me wrong, bmc. I might have one of the coffee flavored ones once in a blue moon - mainly because I like the flavor, but I never let my kids have them in spite of their constant assertions that a bunch of their friends (10-13 year olds!) drink them all the time.
My point is that the headline of this article leads you to believe that energy drinks alone are sending people to the hospital, which the article itself does not support. People are going to the hospital for abusing energy drinks and alcohol together.
I'm not advocating energy drinks. I'm advocating responsible journalism. Which is much like banging my head against my desk in hopes that my back yard will rake itself before I get home. . . But, I want MSNBC to know that at least some of us are onto them and their cheap tricks.
"...most contain less than half the caffeine in a cup of coffee"? Then why bother? There is something in them that gives an energy boost or people wouldn't drink them.
Placebo effect. The label says it will give them energy for 5 hours so they believe it. They pay $3.00 for an ounce or so of snake oil, so they have a vested interest in convincing at least themselves that it works.
I can personally drink a thermos full of coffee and I still feel wrung out. But, I can make a thermos full of coffee for about $0.05.
WTH some people cant handle energy drinks and are causing medical costs to go up!? The stupidity of people never fails to amaze me. People who go to an emergency room over nothing more than consuming energy drinks should just be sent home.
And... Cannabis is illegal.
Don't listen to the anti-Cannabis propaganda. All the legal stuff is far worse.
