Yeah, they're making profits on the THC when it is refined. Maybe too much profit, but it is inspected by the FDA and should be less likely to contain contaminants. The rational for buying home-grown pot is that it's cheaper. The rational for not buying it is: 1. You don't know what has been sprayed on the plants or mixed with it by the producer. 2. It's still illegal until you can find and buy enough politicians who will repeal the law making pot illegal in the first place. It is just the same as it was during prohibition when both the government and bootleggers poisoned thousands of people with contaminated alcohol. Right now, both the drug companies and the pot growers make more money than they would if growing it were legal.

WHY does the government have a patent on THC?... It's STILL 'illegal' in their eyes, and they won't let it be 'legal' until they realize how much money they'll make. And then... It will ONLY be LEGAL FOR THEM to profit from. That's pretty backwards- at a time when jobs could be created- and the economy would reap the benefits.

No, it's not. You do not understand patent law. There are three kinds of intellectual property law, those are Trademark, Copyright and Patent. Of these three, Patent law is the weakest and only lasts for 15 years. The Patent on Marinol expired last year. There is no patent protection for Marinol any longer.

Anybody who wants to produce that crap as a generic drug can go right ahead and do it. Do you see anybody stepping up to the plate? Of course you don't, because it was completely and utterly useless. Patients (real patients, not stoners) had no use for it and so there's no demand for Marinol, no market, and no Generic version of it.

Lighten up on Genedamage up there. You know what happened, right? His prom date left him stranded to go party with some dude that had some killer smoke, and he blamed the pot. Marijuana has been known since 10 Billion B.C. and there's nothing to study about it. Everything a human being needs to know about that despicable Demon weed has been known since the dawn of time and it has never, in the history of mankind, been found to be worth a damned in any nation anywhere in any century.

I disagree. I do not take pot personally but I have seen it's benefits (in the legal Pill Form) repeatedly. Cancer patients often benefit from the relief of nausea and the improvement in appetite. Does it cure cancer? VERY doubtful but there are a lot of states that prosecute a person for using pot as severely as they do driving drunk...some punish even worse than DWI. Personal use is no worse than using alcohol except for the fact that it is illegal. The fact that it is illegal makes it a marketable product for the same people who sell cocaine, crack and other very dangerous drugs. These same people tend to carry 40 caliber Glocks and blow their competition away. Our jails are far too full of people who were caught using but not dealing and that has cost us way too much money as taxpayers.

Cancer patients are the last people on Earth who should be hit by the side effects of the horrific THC drug. Not only does it cause memory loss to make the patient forget to take meds, but it also causes time distortion (most hallucinogenics do) to keep them from taking meds on time. Marijuana is a pretty good way to ensure that cancer patients will deviate from their treatment regimen.

That's a slap on the wrist compared to my preference. I like the Malaysia method. Get caught with marijuana in Malaysia and they'll execute you. They don't mess around with demon weedsters.

It's a lot worse than using alcohol. Alcohol doesn't cause a contact high in unsuspecting passersby. Marijuana does that. Nobody is smoking alcohol. I think alcohol is disgusting too, but at least the fumes don't cause contact highs.

I tend to carry a 9mm Ruger. I hold a concealed carry weapons permit and the reason that 9mm is a NATO round while .40 isn't is because 9mm is more effective. The .40 has too much penetrating power at handgun ranges and doesn't transfer 100% available energy to the target. If you think putting a bullet clean through your target is good then you don't know enough about using guns to be carrying one.

Potheads always have an ancillary crime getting the attentions of the cops. The only reason it looks like anyone is busted for pot possession is because of plea bargaining to drop other worse charges.
