I don't know about you, but when I was a kid the only time sunscreen ever touched my skin was at the beach. I didn't have video games as a kid, I played outside almost everyday. We played football, played in the woods, rode quads/bikes, rode around the block on pedal bikes etc etc.
Besides, the study was conducted in Massachusetts. They sure get a lot of sun there... Conduct the study somewhere that actually gets a lot of sun, and the results might be a little different.
I think they should distinguist between males and females as well, as I can't imagine many 8th grade boys wanting to go outside to tan.
