This law and others like it are just a total crock.....No woman goes in for an abortion without already knowing she is pregnant. With the help of a calendar and memory, they should be able to determine how many weeks pregnant she is without the ultrasound.
80% of all abortions are performed by the 9th week, when the embryo is around 1 inch long and weighs a fraction of an ounce, about the size of a green grape.....
89% of all abortions are performed by the 12th week, when the embryo is around 2 inches long and weights about 1/2 of an ounce, about the size of a lime.....
Trust women to make the correct decisions regarding reproduction!
I feel like this law isn't that horrible a "concession" to make. It's in no way prohibiting abortions. I feel like it's just allowing women to make a more informed decision. Who would get a cast without an x-ray? I'm not saying these women don't KNOW that they're pregnant. Obviously they do. But I do not see the harm in these women seeing what exactly they are aborting. Even if it's a tiny circle on a screen, maybe it may change their perspective (if not their decision). They're still allowed to abort it. It's just clarifying the situation.
It's not the job of the government to push unnecessary medical procedures on women. Women know exactly what is in their uterus. Since most abortions happen in the first trimester, a trans vaginal ultrasound will be used. That is wand being shoved in women's vaginas to see a fetus that is barely visible. It should be the choice of the woman to have the ultrasound, not forced on them.
When you buy gas for the required second trip, remember to buy it at a Liberty convenience store, Jill Vogal's father owns them all.

No two ways about it - anyone who performs a TVU on a woman who doesn't want a TVU is committing a rape. But that's perfectly okay to the RWNJs.
Anyone (such as you, hmd29) who compares a TVU to an x-ray has no clue whatsoever as to the procedure.
welcome back to the Ninteenth century women. Geez.
