I thought the Susan B Komen foundation was a charity that excepted donations for research of the cure for breast cancer. If they stop funding at Planned parenthood for poor women to get breast cancer screenings, how does that help the cause of stopping breast cancer. Then the foundation could be inadvertently responsible for women dying of the disease that they say they are trying to cure. I'll giving directly to Planned Parenthood and encourage my friends not to walk for the cure anymore.

This is disgusting. That a charity designed to assist women in screening breast cancer would deliberately wipe away the only lifeline some of these woman have. Politics has no place when it comes to cancer. The rightwing fringe has struck once again.

This is reprehensible. Why would the Komen foundation withdraw their funding to help these poor women get the screenings they need?!? Cancer knows no boundaries when it comes to politics - it strikes us all. They are basically saying "too bad, so sad" to poorer women who likely don't have health insurance and can't get a screening elsewhere.

As I understand it, their funding goes into a completely separate account that only goes to funding breast cancer screenings, and it isn't used for any other reproductive related services, so all I can say is, Why? Why throw these women under the bus? Are they somehow no longer worthy of the screenings?

I am completely disgusted, and will no longer consider Komen worthy of my donations, and will tell my friends & family as well. I will give directly to PP instead.
