Actually, the CDC has been saying this, and this has been common knowledge, for many years. Reusing tattoo needles, ink, razors, and other supplies, is also a way to spread Hepatitis B and HIV. Any tattoo received in prison, or injecting drugs with a needle in prison, (or a shared needle outside of prison) is likely to give a person Hepatitis B, C, and/or HIV. I'm glad they are issuing new alerts about this, but it's old information that's been on the CDC website for a long time.

Old school (professional) tattooers had a saying: "Everybody gets the tattoo that they deserve."
