I support this completely! Regardless of the issue at hand (in this case, "Plan B"), the government has no right to bind the consciences of religious institutions to such a mandate. The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States protects Americans from mandates that require Americans to act against their own convictions. The problem is not first and foremost the particular legislation that the administration is forcing upon religious institutions, but the fact that they are suggesting a legislation that make a moral issue a legal requirement. By passing this bill, the government is denying the institution's moral rights. Obama is arguing open moral rights to everyone - standing up for the rights of individuals - while at the same time limiting the moral rights of others. It is a contradiction.
How cute. People are fighting for the right of Muslims to force their will on us. These aren't Muslims, you say? Well, they will be soon! Thanks to people that fight for t his kind of crap!
Birth control, even Plan B, is not a moral issue; it is a women's health issue and the government has not only a right, but an obligation to protect the health of its citizens. No matter how much the religious contingent wants us to believe otherwise, this is not about freedom of religion or separation of church and state. Now, if the government said that all women were required to take birth control; that would be a violation of the First Amendment.
